The term "classic hardcore punk album" must be one of the most overused phrases, but in the case of the Spermbirds legendary debut album from 1986, its more than valid. Hailing from Kaiserslauten and featuring ex US serviceman Lee Hollis on vocals, the debut Spermbirds album was fast and furious punk rock influenced by US hardcore bands such as BLACK FLAG, 7 SECONDS and ANGRY SAMOANS. Mainland Europe's most successful hardcore band are still going strong 25 years on, and "Something To Prove" remains the starting point / first port of call to anyone checking out the band.
