Exploding from the developing 1976 punk scene, Sham 69 were the street kids who refused to let their working class upbringing hold them back from the spotlight and instead used their spirit to connect with an unenthused youth. Combining passionate yet destructive music with boisterous, chant vocals and lyricism made the band as catchy as they were furious and soon saw them being covered by nationwide press.
With the classic line up of Jimmy Pursey on vocals, Dave Parsons on guitar, Dave Tregunna on bass and now featuring Danny Fury on drums Sham 69 hasn't been this focused on stage and in the studio since their hey-day. After years of drama this legendary band is now settled and fixated on producing a 'Best Of' album that is faithfully updated, urgent and energetic - precisely as it should be.
