With roots planted firmly in hardcore and punk, Florida's Merchandise has put out records on Katorga Works, Jagjaguwar and Night People Records before settling on the legendary 4AD. Still self-recording and producing their own music, Merchandise's sound remains heavily influenced by The Smiths, Joy Division and New Order while utilizing acoustic guitars almost primarily on "After The End" but retaining the danceability the band has become well known for.
