With Melbourne's iconic venue The Arthouse sadly closing it's doors back in April, it seems fitting that Leatherface's 'Viva La Arthouse' live album should finally be let out of the vault. Recorded during last year's Weekender Fest by Matt Bodiam (A Death In The Family), 'Viva La Arthouse' celebrates Leatherface's 2010 world tour that took in Japan, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia in support of their latest studio album 'The Stormy Petrel' (Poison City, Big Ugly Fish, No Idea). As well as featuring newer favourites from 'The Stormy Petrel' and 'Dog Disco' albums, the set list that night was also packed full of Leatherface classics, stretching back to songs from 'Fill Your Boots', 'Mush' and plenty in between. 'Viva La Arthouse' is more than just a live album by Leatherface at their blistering best, it's also a recording that perfectly captures the energy, warmth and community that made The Arthouse such special place for musician and punters over the past two decades. Both CD and Double LP come with amazing illustrations of The Arthouse building thanks to Glenn Smith.
