The year 1999 saw the return of T he Cretin and probably their best release since "feed us a fetus". They continue to go against the corporate grain of music and poke fun at what ever gets in their way while drinking a 24 of beer. Day Glo Abortions founder the Cretin returns to the fold for Death Race 2000, which delivers exactly what fans want: a set of tuneful punk laced with gleefully obnoxious humor. It's possible to read them as an over-the-top parody of punk's taboo-busting sensibility, but either way, the album is a lot of fun if you appreciate their humor.
