Camera Shy is a side project from Nick Basset, guitarist and lead songwriter of San Francisco shoegaze act Whirr and bass player of Nothing. This band sees Bassett also at the writing helm, accompanied by Whirr vocalist Alexandra Morte, whose radiant vocals can be heard on Whirr's acclaimed 2012 full-length "Pipe Dreams," as well as their "June" and "Part Time Punks" EPs. As Whirr's sound diverges down a slightly foreign path, Camera Shy exists to serve the poppier end of a similar spectrum. Now, the vocals are up front and at times even carry the songs, creating a relaxing dream pop soundscape perfect for summer days outside.
