Released in 1996 but recorded over various sessions in 1993 before Varg committed his heinous crimes, it's a beautifully hate-filled collection of uber-grim Black Metal kvltness. Huge washes of fuzzed guitars meet minimal drum beats and howled vocals, making this a truly surreal, one-of-a-kind record. A total classic.
