Shook Ones "Sixteen" CD

If nothing else, Shook Ones proves that pop-punk doesn't have to be about getting dumped and hardcore doesn't have to be about getting stabbed in the back. Taking the best of both worlds (along with some cues from predecessors like Jawbreaker and Kid Dynamite) and leaving the bullshit behind, Shook Ones offers both innovation and familiarity at the same time. Theirs is a recipe that includes uncompromising speeds mixed with an array of guitar riffs that seem to continuously evolve. This, combined with a healthy dose of hooks, conspire to get all up in the listener's face in the nicest way possible.
