Nothington is a band that already stands out from their punk peers because they boast a tasteful tinge of American rock and a Western aesthetic. Imagine a young, gruff Social Distortion with whiskey-fueled anthems about loneliness and triumph. It makes perfect sense then that the SF band would eventually try an acoustic, stripped-down approach to their rootsy punk rock, and "More Than Obvious" is exactly that. This four-song 7" sheds a new light on what these guys are capable of and proves their songs and melodies are great with or without amplified guitars.
