Continuing the EP's general theme of the quest for love, Adkins begins "Love Don't Wait" subtly with just acoustic guitar accompanying his yearning vocal; the song eventually comes to a big, multi-instrument crescendo, perhaps representing the build-up of emotion that comes with dealing with unrequited love. Beck's "Don't Act Like Your Heart Isn't Hard," with a slightly more upbeat look at a similar situation, fits nicely with "Love Don't Wait," which it will be paired with on one of the vinyl singles.
