For a brief and shining moment, the working-class heroes of Minutemen streaked across punk rock's horizon, opening minds, moving butts and inspiring awe like few of their peers. This 1983 mini-LP might not be one of their better-known releases, but it is chock-a-block with classic spiels that shed light on the instinctive bond between bassist Mike Watt (who checks in with the cutting "I Felt Like A Gringo") and the late guitarist D. Boon (whose furious delivery ensures that every listener will feel "Little Man With A Gun In His Hand" deep in his or her gut). True to form, most of the tunes do clock in around a minute, so even if one doesn't strike your fancy, the wait for the next buzz won't be a long one.
