"Appetite For Destruction", released in July 1987, was Guns N' Roses full length debut. Although stadium tours with the likes of Mötley Crüe and Aerosmith certainly brought the album to a wider audience, helped by era-defining videos for the singles 'Welcome To The Jungle' and 'Paradise City', it was over a year before the album hit the top spot when the classic 'Sweet Child O' Mine' became a US #1 single in 1988. According to Kerrang! Magazine, it was "A genuine rock classic and one of the greatest albums of the last 20 years....It was loud, nasty, caused public outcry and sold over 25 million copies," and according to Q was "The sweariest rock album ever made a riotous celebration of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll."
