Initially recorded by the band as an offering for their fans while they were between full-length albums, the majority of Five Dollar was recorded in one short, inspired burst on August 1, 1993, between the hours of 9:30 and 10:15 PM (with friend and Fastback Kur(d)t Bloch egging them on from the production booth).
