All-Female Band The Donnas Famously Formed in 8th Grade to Play a School Talent Show. They adopted the name The Donnas as a Backhanded Ramones homage, with all four members taking the first name of Donna as opposed to the last name of Ramone.
Early Donnas recordings consisted of gleefully unapologetic, pop-punk paeans to adolescent alienation and hedonism from a decidedly female perspective.
But the 2004 release 'Gold Medal', their sixth album overall and second for the Atlantic Label, took them in a different direction.
Produced by Avril Lavigne's Producer Butch Walker.
