The Gaslight Anthem "American Slang Tour Edition" CD
The Gaslight Anthem exploded out of the New Brunswick, NJ punk underground with 2007s debut, Sink Or Swim (Resist Records through Shock). The Señor And The Queen EP (Resist Records through Shock) EP followed in early 2008, its ambition foreshadowing the bands stunning SideOneDummy Records/ Shock debut, The 59 Sound. With its melding of classic rock, soul and punk power, the album proved an immediate critical and popular sensation, with The New York Times praising the rich, lustrous songwriting and taut punk arrangements, noting that Fallons casually observed storytelling, overflowing with detail, seethes with a cool desperation reminiscent of Mr. Springsteen in the late 70s. The 59 Sound was equally popular in the UK, Europe and Australia, with the hype building to American Slang huge. The band toured Australia right upon the album release in August 2008 to a real I was there on their first tour feeling in the crowd, with fans knowing they were onto something quite early in a bands career. Now with the band doing the 2011 Soundwave Festival, we are fortunate to be able to release this strictly one (small) pressing, 2CD Australian only Tour Edition. One shot at this one it will go quickly.
